Conference Description
The Sleep Regulation and Function GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.
The upcoming Gordon Research Seminar on Sleep Regulation and Function will focus on the latest advancements in basic and translational sleep research, spanning from insects to humans. The seminar will consist of five symposia, covering topics such as sleep throughout the lifespan, the effects of circadian rhythms on sleep, the relationship between sleep, neurodegeneration, and mental disorders, the regulation of energy and metabolism during sleep, and unconventional approaches to studying sleep. Furthermore, a panel featuring both a senior and an early-career scientist will engage with participants to discuss the challenges faced in sleep science throughout the scientific career.
An outline of the program components for this GRS is displayed below. The seminar chair is currently developing their detailed program schedule, which will include the speakers they select from submitted abstracts, in addition to any additional components outlined below. The detailed program will be available by January 2, 2024. Please check back for updates.
