Conference Description

The Staphylococcal Diseases GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.

Understanding the biology of a pathogen is one of the first steps to improve care and therapeutics in case of infections. This GRS will focus on various aspects of staphylococcal biology, such as its interaction with the microbiome, ability to develop resistance and how it makes it a successful pathogen (both human and animal). It will provide a platform for early career researchers with different research interests to share their work in a relaxed environment, facilitating possible future collaborations. The meeting will also have a mentoring program where different career paths will be discussed.
