The Central Role of Natural Products in Biology and Chemistry

Natural products play a central role in human health. This crucial position has brought together researchers from industry and academia studying such diverse areas as isolation, structure determination, biosynthesis, total synthesis, methodology development, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, and process chemistry. The 63rd Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Natural Products will continue to provide a dynamic venue for researchers to meet and exchange ideas in formal and informal settings. In the spirit of all GRCs, this meeting will provide an ideal platform for sharing unpublished results and for the interaction of junior and senior experts in all the fields associated with natural products.

The meeting will be held in the same location as last year, Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire. The site offers a relaxed and comfortable setting that is ideally suited for rigorous scientific discussions as well as abundant opportunity for recreation.

Consistent with previous meetings, poster sessions will be held on consecutive days, and represent an indispensable constituent of the scientific success and social dialogue at the Natural Products GRC. Thus, all conferees are encouraged to submit abstracts for poster presentation. Abstracts (1 page maximum) with title, authors and affiliation(s)/address(es) should be submitted to the 2014 Chair, Michael Calter, and the 2014 Vice Chair, Steven Olson, as part of formal application through the GRC online site. Posters will be selected for short talks to be presented by their primary authors during the conference.
