Conference Description
The Polymers GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
The 2023 Polymers Gordon Research Conference (GRC) will assemble an international and diverse community of scholars from academia, industry, and national laboratories to highlight the most recent innovations related to polymer science and to discuss how key discoveries can generate new and exciting materials for current and next-generation applications. Petroleum-derivable and bio-derivable polymers will be discussed in numerous oral and poster presentations. Conference topics will focus on sustainability of natural and synthetic polymers; new methods for polymer synthesis and characterization; and new developments in polymers for energy, medicine, and advanced manufacturing applications. The Polymers GRC will provide various mechanisms for networking across professional levels through discussion sessions, coffee breaks, meals, recreational activities, and evening poster sessions. This conference will be preceded by a Gordon Research Seminar (GRS), which will enable junior scientists to network and meet current leaders from academia, government, and industry. The most outstanding lecturers from the GRS will be highlighted during the GRS, and several GRS participants will be given the opportunity to participate in the GRC program. Combined, the Polymers GRS and GRC constitute an exciting, influential, and important collection of presentations at the cutting edge of polymer science.
The topics, speakers, and discussion leaders for the conference sessions are displayed below. The conference chair is currently developing their detailed program, which will include the complete meeting schedule, as well as the talk titles for all speakers. The detailed program will be available by February 8, 2025. Please check back for updates.
