Conference Description
The Preclinical Form and Formulation for Drug Discovery GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.
In modern drug discovery and pharmaceutical development there is a growing emphasis on the use of complex data to drive innovation in pharmaceutical design, delivery, and translation for variable patient populations. With new modalities emerging each year, and a focus on rapid and efficient translation from bench-scale to bedside, we look to the use of both Big Data and Small Data to drive both our mechanistic understanding and decision making. Big Data is defined by large data sets and includes tools such as A/I and Machine Learning; Big Data encompasses large and complex data sets such as population pharmacokinetics and the results of in silico simulations that can be leveraged to guide us in the design and development of pharmaceutical products to address unmet need globally. The rise of Big Data in pharmaceutical development does not, however, overshadow the need to continue to leverage Small Data – especially in the era of personalized and precision medicine. Topics for this conference sit at the intersection of in silico computations, in vitro experimentation, and in vivo performance driving discussion around leveraging Big and Small Data together to advance new ideas in form and formulation for drug discovery.
The topics, speakers, and discussion leaders for the conference sessions are displayed below. The conference chair is currently developing their detailed program, which will include the complete meeting schedule, as well as the talk titles for all speakers. The detailed program will be available by February 22, 2025. Please check back for updates.
