Since 1992, the Gordon Research Conference on Bioorganic Chemistry has brought together scientists from a range of disciplines to present and discuss cutting-edge research at the interface between chemistry and biology. The meeting in 2012 showcased sessions in the areas of medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, chemical biology, chemical proteomics, nucleic acids, biosynthesis, natural products, and carbohydrates. As a new feature of the meeting, a discussion-based session was included on Wednesday evening to foster conversation and ideas on "How to make a small molecule modulator to every biology target". The talks and discussions were lively and robust.

The poster sessions included over 120 presentations, a number of which were featured as short talks in the program. Congratulations to our graduate student and postdoctoral poster competition award winners: Kristen Seim (University of California, Berkeley), Lynn McGregor (Harvard University), Rui Wang (Weill Cornell Medical College), Dennis Buckley (Yale University), and Claire Knezevic (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign).
